These Adventure-loving Pets Will Inspire You To Get Out And Explore

Who doesn’t love a good adventure? Even our favourite furry friends do! Some days they enjoy a little snooze in the sun and somedays they’re just as excited as we are to head to the great outdoors. And sometimes, they’re the motivation to get off our bums and head outside. They not only make great snooze-buddies, they make great travel companions too. Don’t believe us? We have rounded up some of the most adventurous pets on Instagram to make you go “awwwww” and maybe inspire you a little?

Mars the snow-loving Alaskan Malamute has hiked his way into our hearts with his playful antics! He is strong, fast and energetic, you can tell from his impressive resume from accompanying his “boss” during mountaineering, skiing, cycling and running. One thing’s for sure, this goofy-faced wolfdog will take on any adventure his humans embark on!

A cat that isn’t lazy nor afraid of the waters? Well, it’s not common but here’s Suki, a stunning Bengal Cat who would rather wander around the world than to be a house-cat. She is quite the traveler, always in search for the next beautiful destination to leap to. Oh, what a groovy cat you are Suki!

Hazel is probably the world’s most adventurous guinea pig. While all her other guinea pig friends are busy munching on hay, she’s off hiking haunted mountains, exploring ghost towns, searching for fairy houses and sitting in 150 million-year-old dinosaur print with her bff Sebastian the adventure dog. This guinea pig has wayyy more guts than some of us eh?

Isn’t he the sweetest-looking bird you’ve ever seen! Teddy absolutely loves shower-time and serenading his shower buddy, and when he isn’t singing in the shower, he is out enjoying the beautiful views and trails with his mum. I can imagine him being an absolute joy on hikes flying around, serenading hikers with his beautiful sing-song voice!

🐰: what are those thingsies up there?
👸: They are birds.
🐰: But where are they going?
👸: To south.
🐰: What is saut? Can we go too?

Urgh, Metku you are so fluffy I’m gonna die!!! Metku (=shenanigan) is a lionlop living in Finland with her two bunny sisters, Kaaos and Oikku. He hates Mondays but loves the great outdoors, and occasionally tries to help his human daddy with gardening.

Dobby! He is one of the 4 houseelves ferrets belonging to Fred and Liz and they share their house with 2 dogs, 1 cat and 5 birds. Things must be pretty lively in their house every day! Dobby is the couple’s first ferret and they wanted a playmate for him so they got the Silver Mitt and quite by accident got the third and then a fourth to complete their little family of House Elves. Dobby particularly enjoys car rides and camping with his furry brothers and humans. Well, they’re definitely not the typical family you see every day at a camp!

Handsome little Johnny is a teacup pig that loves snuggles and cuddles and lots of naps and also has a serious case of wanderlust. His adventures include trotting alongside his humans at the beach, road tripping in an RV and being captain of the float. He has visited 14 US states so far and we don’t think he intends to stop. Travel on little piggy!

Just trying so hard not to be biased here but IS HE THE WORLD’S CUTEST ADVENTURER OR WHAT!  No mountain is too high and no ocean’s too wide for Mr, Pokee (god even his name is so adorable!) Traveling with a spiky ball ain’t always easy but we’re glad his human brings him along during some of her adventures! Ps. He’s aways ready to dish out a hedgehug if needed.

Adventures are definitely better shared! The next time you find yourself without a hiking buddy, I’m sure good old Lucky would love to accompany you! Who knows, your pet may turn out to love adventures as much as you do.
