Indulge In Nostalgia At The Local Lingo Tingkat Party (当地艺语) This November

Ever wanted to bring the 90s back? Well we don’t have a time-machine (working on it), but you can re-live the good ol’ days for a weekend at the Local Lingo Tingkat Party this November!

The Local People are taking-over Chinatown Food Street to turn it into an indie art and music market filled with lots of throwback to the yesteryears. It’s a celebration of old and new Singapore, and everything local from Chinese customs, language to handmade goods by Singaporean designers, this popular heritage food street will turn into an eclectic experience for locals and visitors.

In the mood for shopping ? There are plenty of local vendors at the art market, such as Asiapac Books who are bringing educational comics and illustrated books on Asia culture, history, arts, philosophy, etc to the table, Vintagewknd with curated WALLET-FRIENDLY unique vintage pieces around the world, Laugh and Belly’s comedic stickers, cards and totebags featuring puns, funny one-liners and encouraging quotes and many more.

Hungry? @3mischefs will be bringing you fresh Vietnamese summer rolls, grab a sng bao (ice lolly) from Bingz or some handcrafted Mocha Fudge Ripple ice cream from Dancing Elephant Ice Cream Co. to beat our sunny weather. You also get to build your very own, limited edition tingkat (tiffin carriers used in Southeast Asia to contain food) for just $12! Yay, can dabao food to work in style already!

These activities aren’t enough? Well then, get crafty with FMS Fashion Makerspace and make your own Ba Zhang Bag, Five Stones or Good Morning Towel Drawstring Bag! We assure you that these can only be found in Singapore. #localsgpride Be sure to catch some tunes at 3.30pm with up-and-coming local musicians!

So come join this retro party and bring your mother, father, ah gong, ah ma, your entire kampong to have a rolling good time!
