Situated next to the river banks of Robertson Quay, The Warehouse Hotel is a true blue Singaporean Hotel outfitted with modern industrial chic décor, high ceilings and a touch of heritage. It is also the first in Singapore to tell the story of Singapore’s new makers, creators & do-ers, brought to life through its thoughtful collaborations.
The Area
Back in its heyday, Robertson Quay stood in the midst of a hotbed of secret societies, underground activities, and liquor distilleries. While its days of being a bustling red-light district are gone, in place is an urbanised area filled with an eclectic mix of international restaurants with alfresco dining, wine bars, art houses, cafes, and condominiums. A perfect place to chill and unwind from the hustle & bustle of the city.
The Rooms
The 37-room boutique hotel is a combination of 3 warehouses dating back to 1895 that has been meticulously restored to include the original warehouse design and local culture. There are 6 types of rooms available, all incredibly spacious, luxe and comes with a muted colour palette. It is a minimalist’s heaven. Rooms come with complimentary wifi, a custom pillow top king mattress with finishing touches by MatterPrints, 100{6cc99c052a2fcd17af1df3eea710f6d0fda444a06dce88abadd382d47e285100} eco-certified Ashley & Co bath amenities, and access to the rooftop infinity pool. Pretty sure I would not want to leave my room after checking in, hmm except maybe to take a dip in the infinity pool.
Room rates start from $257.
The Restaurant
The Warehouse Hotel’s flagship mod-sin restaurant aptly named Po pays homage to popo which means Grandmother in Mandarin from whom Chef-Partner Willin Low’s dishes are inspired from. As expected of the mod-sin pioneer, Chef Willin Low’s adds his own creative twist to local favourites and elevates typical hawker fare to the next level. Po also seeks to bridge the gap between our nation’s vibrant culinary heritage and our rich collective memories of home cooked specialties. One of the crowd favourites is the DIY Popiah where you get to wrap your own popiah with fresh ingredients, and we’ve also heard good stuff on their Paper Spring Chicken. You certainly do not need to stay in The Warehouse Hotel to try the delectable dishes here.
